Court Extends YouTuber Rajab Butt’s Bail Till March 30

KARACHI – An Additional District and Sessions Court on Tuesday extended the interim bail of YouTuber Rajab Butt until March 30. The case involves allegations of desecration of Islamic symbols. The hearing was held at the Karachi Central Sessions Court. Rajab Butt, who is currently on interim bail, appeared before the court. The defence requested more time, which the court approved.

During the hearing, the complainant’s lawyer argued that the accused arrived late at court. The lawyer stated the court time was 8:30 am, while Rajab Butt appeared at 9:30 am. The complainant also requested that the court cancel the bail. They claimed they were ready to present evidence, but the defence failed to appear.

A junior lawyer informed the court that the accused’s counsel, Mian Ali Ashfaq, was on official leave. The court noted that the defence counsel had previously missed hearings.
